To all members who rack mount their MOTM

To all members who rack mount their MOTM

2001-01-24 by Nathan Alan Hunsicker

Hello all, I hope I'm not out of line by asking this...
I was thinking of getting some rack release rack screw sets to use with
my MOTM (and all my rack mount gear for that matter.) For those of you
who are unfamiliar with these, they are double ended studs (10/32) to
place in your rack. Instead of using a screw to hold your gear in place,
your rack mount stuff slips over the stud and is held in place by a
thumb screw making it easy for you to rack and unrack equipment or
modules fairly quickly. These little sets are expensive ($4.95 for 4
sets (stud, washer and thumbscrew)) But I can buy them at a quantity
discount of $1.85 a set if i can buy 50 at a time. If enough people are
interested, I'll buy them and ship them out to whoever wants them. If I
don't get a big response, I'll nix the idea entirely and go back to
normal rack screws. Let me know if anyone wants in. -Nate

50 sets of 4, and the price (1.85) is for a set of 4 studs, 4 washers,
and 4 thumbscrews (enough to mount one unit.) -Nate

Nate, I would participate in a group buy just for the halibut. I have no
specific need for the them now, but they look darn handy. Of course, I will
buy 200 1% resistors no matter how many I need because that is the break
point where the price drops from 9 cents to 2 cents. :) I think it is
worthwhile to get the price down to something at least reasonable. If you
get enough interest, you can put me down for 5 sets (or a 10 of you really
need me to) at that price plus appropriate shipping expenses.
