Theory of Negativity

2001-01-30 by pow333@hotmail.com

If you expect it to arrive ( "it" might be a Synthesis Technology 440,
but really it doesn't much matter what "it is,) and you frequent the
post office, hoping for a little yellow slip in your box, it is never
there. It deosn't show up until you get sick of cursing whatever is
near enough to hurl epithets at. You have to just forget about it
entirely, then it is there. As long as you actively desire the darned
thing, darned if it doesn't take it's time. And time is all you're left
with, time to post long rambling diatribes, contemplate flux and how it
relates to solder as well as gaussian surfaces, maybe even eat dinner.

This is the "A watched pot never boils" phenomena. I've experienced it many
times, but have used it to my advantage. For instance, UPS would usually
show up at my house when I was on the toilet. One day I got tired of
waiting, so I figured I'd go up and sit on the toilet, and sure enough, I
hear the UPS truck pull into my driveway. The laws of physics can be
controlled.
