Re: [oberheim] Re: Matrix 1000 Source code

now, if the OP had in mind the _original_ source code i remember a discussion with a former oberheim developer who was involved with M-1000. he told me that the hard disk (i think it was a PDP machine where the code was developed on) with the _only_ copy of the M-1000 firmware source among other things fell on the floor and got damaged (hard disks were pretty sensitive back then). and they did not have a backup, that's why the M-1000 firmware has some unfinished parts. so the story concerning the _original_ source of M-1000 ends here. period.

of course, i have no way of knowing whether the story is authentic :)

I think that the reference to source code is to this site:

You mean the disassembled ROM files? You'll have to find a 68B09 assembler and do it yourself. If anyone had hacked the code to make it better(if that's possible) They would be selling a new OS Eprom as I'm sure plenty of people would want one, and would pay money for it.

Actually, those are the binaries of the roms, not the source.
Aparently (I saw it on a forum, so how true it is, im not sure) the actual source code was floating around. So, if anyone has seen that...

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
