Stephan, I don't have this instrument, and don't know it well from technical point of view, and don't have enough time for study of service documentation for you. You or your technician can do it directly. I speak just generally, as a collector and hobby serviceman who does maintenance and repairs of his numerous instruments. Besides the check I recommended to you, I usually change electrolytic (sometimes also tantalum) caps, especially in power supply circuit, sometimes I replace old displays with EL backlight for modern with LED backlight. I can send you service manuals, please don't expect from me concrete advice what to do with this instrument. Maybe some owner or specialist who knows it will answer your questions.
