As promised, I have scanned and uploaded the Oberheim OB-Xa "Programmed Patches" book to my website at this address:
http://www.electron gate.com/ obfiles/OB- Xa/patchbook. html
Enjoy, and let me know if you find any broken links or mistakes.
Thanks,

i appreciate your help. you know that's a lot of work for you to scan all that. don't you want me to just buy a copy of the patch book from you, at least to compensate you for your time?

I can think of a couple of possibilities:
1. Bad patch tape. Try programming patch A3 manually (see patch
sheet here http://www.electron gate.com/ obfiles/OB- Xa_patch_ A3.jpg)
and see if it works OK.
2. Bad or missing RAM chip. Try storing a working patch in the CD
and ACD banks and see if they stick.
Good luck.
