Perf/X firmware pool, Cyclone

Perf/X firmware pool, Cyclone

2005-08-17 by acousmatique

Hi all! I am a loving owner of an Oberhein Cyclone. It's one of those forward-thinking but
terribly cryptic bits of gear from Obie's Gibson period. I have also gotten to try great
Oberheim analog synths, but never had enough bread to get one of my own.

I have always strongly suspected that each of the Perf/X boxes was identical hardware, just
with a different firmware ROM. Since I have only a Cyclone, I have not been able to verify
this. Anyway, it seems like a fine place to start! A few weeks ago I got an EPROM burner/
reader and have been making firmware backups for many of my machines. Any interest in
me posting the Cyclone ROM? I would be very psyched if others would post other Perf/X
ROMs as well.

Any feedback would be appreciated!
CJ

Ok, I just posted the firmware ROM for the Oberheim Cyclone arpeggiator. If you've got a
broken Cyclone then maybe you can use this. If you have a different Perf/X box, an EPROM
burner, and some curiousity - then maybe you want to load this ROM into your Perf/X and
tell us whether or not it works. If anybody else wants to post firmware for other units, I'd
love to see them. Else, if anybody want to send their other Perf/X boxes to me here in
Connecticut so that I can painlessly dump the ROM and send it back to you, then please
feel free to contact me.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
