OBERHEIM SYNTH

Hey. I recently acquired a Matrix 6, and I love it. I've been trying to send sysex information to it through my laptop and MIDI Controller, but with no success. I can send note on/off messages and mod wheel/pitchbend, but no sysex. Often, when I try to send syex info, my Matrix locks up and starts playing these bizarre erratic tones, and I lose control of the keyboard until I restart it. I'm currently using the 1.0 Firmware, does this have any effect on the sysex or MIDI capabilities of the synth? Would it be possible to upgrade it - does anyone have the dumps of the newer ROMs online? Thanks so much, I really want to get controlling this with some external editor.
