hi there, just wondering if anyone has found a midi controller that does the job with the matrix 1000? or possibly a logic environment setup ready to go. cheers adrian

Hello, http://www.swiftkick.com/ then downloads -> logic environemnts -> usergroup -> synths u will find many LSO files and 1 for the m1000 too u need a controller that can send MIDI System Exclusive and _NOT_ just MIDI Control Change (CC) with Kbd : Novation Remote, Remote SL (_NOT_ the LE) Edirol PCR-M No Kbd : Doepfer Drehbank, REGELWERK , JLC Fadermaster, Lexicon MRC Peavey PC1600(X) Regards --------------------------------------------------Env1-----Env2--Env3----------- Andrea.TONI@... This looks promising too: http://www.thomann.de/gb/evolution_uc33e_usbcontroller.htm

Unfortunately no, the uc33e will not handle midi sysex strings Regards --------------------------------------------------Env1-----Env2--Env3----------- Andrea.TONI@... Adrian this is , let's say a "fault" of the m1000 and has nothing to do with the controller used. midi sysex compare to midi CC are long strings of data and the m1000 due to its age and HW architecture was not one of the fastest thing to react on sysex strings (actually midi ccs are not a dart either but better then sysex for sure). The idea is to use them to program a sound if u need real time expression is much better to map the key patch parameters to a midi cc mod wheel or pedals, u still have a few u can use in the m1000. yes the swiftkick site is great ;-) Regards --------------------------------------------------Env1-----Env2--Env3----------- Andrea.TONI@... Vco1 \ | | \ Solar System Missions Sci-SM Vco2-->--Vcf-->Vca-->Ducati996 www.rssd.esa.int Vco3 / | | / --------------------------------------------------Lfo1-----Lfo2--Lfo3----------- thanks for the info andrea..... I just recently read the review of the scarce controller that was made by access some time ago and it was mentioned that when a rotary encoder is turned the response is quite choppy. can this also be said of the controllers you have had experience with. oh and there was some really useful stuff on swiftkick btw. cheers Adrian

u can have real time fun but only with 6 MIDI Ccs (Atouch, pedal 1,2, lever 1 2 3) and u have to map assign them with the modulation Matrix to control a modulation destination for every single Patch. Regards --------------------------------------------------Env1-----Env2--Env3----------- Andrea.TONI@... Vco1 \ | | \ Solar System Missions Sci-SM Vco2-->--Vcf-->Vca-->Ducati996 www.rssd.esa.int Vco3 / | | / --------------------------------------------------Lfo1-----Lfo2--Lfo3----------- so what your saying is... i could buy a midi controller for the M1000 but wont experience all out real time tweakage, but some things (such as the filter section) may be controlled in a satisfactory manor.
