Selling Oberheim

Selling Oberheim

2007-07-22 by Trey L. Petty

Hi all,

Legitimate posting, for a change...

I have a Matrix 6R, a Matrix 1000, an OB-12 and an OB-Xk controller,
that I am looking to sell. All in excellent condition (never racked,
never toured), with manuals, cords, etc.

What are the best ideas as to how to sell this gear?
eBay??

Thanks to all,
Trey

Hi Trey
I haven't seen any activity in this group in months......
I don't have an Oberheim, but wanted one....but at this time, I might have too many synths....
Ebay works for me....just write a good ad, it helps...with photos & condition information. Last few prices for Oberheim stuff was low to mid $200's for Matrix 1000, low to high $200's for 6R, & just over $700 for OB-12.....if that sounds about what you are looking for, you can either auction (will probably get a higher price but takes at least a week & end the suction on a Sunday night or evening, seems to be highest prices) or use a buy-it-now and lots don't want to wait for an auction to end so they will purchase using buy-it-now if the price is not too high.....
I would love the OB-12, would give it a good home, but don't think I can swing much cash right now......

Too many synths? I understand what the individual words mean, but put
together they don't make any sense to me. Such a state is impossible.

I actually agree but I only have a half of a room dedicated to my studio, so I have dropped down to about 22 synths/boards/modules/samplers......plus recording gear....

I think I just broke the three hundred oscillator total in the main rig,
with an additional ninety or so in the live rig, and that doesn't include
the organ module since I don't really know how many it has. I manage to
squeeze all that into a breakfast nook sized space, and that includes a
Hammond. It's a bit tight. After my move I'll have a room for it by itself.
