Never heard of it, but then again, I'm not up on a lot of the more recent
stuff. If it's windows based and can work without a mouse I'd be interested
in more info.

program, but I havent heard of it or tried to find it yet. If you can help
me, please do, as I'm looking for an editor for my Matrix 6R.

I've had it for a few years, but didn't find it any
better than the editors I'd already got.
It was a free download, when Sound~Diver was 300GBP.
Unisyn did the randomizing easier for me, but I had
explored it a bit.
The patches issued with it were all the matrix 1000
ones I think, plus the Matrix6 Factory set. I still
have it, but if someone has a link to the originator
that would be better than I could do, there may be a
later version etc.

HI.

I have ob6000.

Is the best editor ever for the matrix 6.
Is simple and direct and it has a good design.

I only use the program pages, not the bank page.

The matrixED is realy good to.

Okay, now for the big question. Can it be used without a mouse? Will Alt,
Tab, and the arrow keys get you around? If so, it might do the trick for me.
I'm blind, so I have some rather different needs in software functions.

Finding the Owner

2007-11-08 by Nicole Massey

Phonophobie is the name of the person who started this list. I'm thinking
that if we can manage to track down this person, we can either get them to
reassert list ownership or pass it on to several willing members and let us
manage it.

The other alternative is to just start a new list. That's a lot of work, as
it involves digging out all the links, files, photos, and users from this
list and diverting them to another list. Since the original list owner made
the members of the list hidden, this is a lot more headache than it first
looks to be.

Phonophobie is, according to my preliminary web searches, a band doing
electronica, and there's a good possibility that the band still has some
contact presence somewhere for at least some of the members. Anyone up for
looking around?

The spam will continue until we manage to get rid of the open nature of the
group, and that requires a list owner.

Re: Finding the Owner

2007-11-09 by phonophobie

hello nicole, i´m the owner of this little group. yes...

i decided to keep this group open for everyone to join up, because
it´s easier for everyone to join and i don´t have the time to check
every join request. everytime when i sign in via yahoo i check for
spam, and i ban those stupid persons and delete the spam messages...

however when anybody thinks it could be done better and want, check
every join request for example, we could do change the ownership if
this is possible. i have no problem with this. in the past, i just
wanted to create a group for oberheim gear, because there were no
active groups anymore...

Thank you phonophoble for starting this group. I think it is important
to keep it going. I use Apple mail and some spam gets past the filter
but not enough to make me want to leave the list.

I've been an OBie musician since the beginning and have a few pieces
still in my arsenal.

Thanks again!

I think, instead, that the join filter is the answer...
even if you check it just once in a week, that's better than to let
those fuckers join here without a problem...

what do you think about it?

it's slower but is safer...

RE: [oberheim] Re: Finding the Owner

2007-11-09 by Nicole Massey

Hey, make a couple of people moderators, set the entrance requirements to
moderated for new users, and that'll do it. You don't have to do everything
yourself, and it'll go a long way to removing spam.

I moderate/own several groups, and it really does work well.

And I'm glad to see you're still around. I've seen too many synth groups
where the owners have gone away, and it's far more than any other category
of groups.

Another benefit to having moderators is that there's someone around to clear
out the bouncing member list from time to time.

RE: [oberheim] Re: Finding the Owner

2007-11-09 by Nicole Massey

I tend to believe that a stable arrangement is 2 owners and 3 moderators.
That way you've got 5 sets of eyes, (well, 4 if I'm one of those people)
looking at everything that passes through.

I set my groups generally so that anyone can join without having to get
approved, and new members are moderated. I usually wait for the second
message before taking someone off moderation, and spammers are warned 3
times before being removed and banned. It does an extremely good job of
keeping spam messages off the list.

Re: Finding the Owner

I can be a co-owner or moderator. I already take care of about 10 or
so groups and would be glad to help with this. I watch for the
spambots and can recognize most of them as soon as they join. If they
get really bad you can always set the list to moderate new members
then approve them after several viable posts. This way all the
knowledge and members in this great group can be preserved.
