Hi all: >Which Atari editor are you trying to use? Just curious >since I don't have an Atari setup but instead use an >old Mac with ancient Sound Designer software. Drumware's GenWave and of course Sound-Designer. Plus Sample maker and SoftSynth. I have Turbosynth too, but have not tried it yet on the P2000. > >One problem may be that the P2K uses 12bit sample format. >Even though SDS is supposed to work with a generic >driver a lot of the old samplers work best when whatever >software you are trying to use has a specific SDS driver >for that machine. There is a pull down menu, and you can select your sampler. So it is a specic driver. > >Are you trying to send or receive from the P2K? yes >Do you have both MIDI cables connected? Yes >Are you using an emulator or a real ST? An Atari Falcon and TT030 ...so thats a real Atari :-) This makes me wonder if there are parameters I should set on the P2000 itself, just like on a DX7, you have to enable sysex and set it to the correct Recieve channel, and have memory protect to off. Don't know if the P2000 has the equivelent (although I did notice it responds to patch change command when running my sequencer.) I could >never get Steem or any of the other ST emulators >to do anything with external MIDI. Really? I have been getting reports that it works great. Myself, I only use the internal soundcard, but I should try it .
