From: HenrikSent: Tuesday, May 05, 2009 5:34 AMSubject: Re: [prophet2000] Re: Problem with built in soundsI also tried to figure out how to make the built in presets work. On my p2k I can hear 12 presets. Some of them are layered sounds, some have kbd split in two sounds and some presets numbers contain the same sound.
When I tried what you describe hear (to press the Execute in "sound number" mode so that a dot appears), there´s no sound in the upper third of the keyboard. Without the dot there´s sound on the entire keyboard. How do I get it to work?
I´m shure that I´m going to like this cryptics the day I understand them :D

ok, i haven't read the entire manual yet, but i have came to a section telling that the presets should work right off. that's when i jumped and tried them, and not having them all work made me think something was bad. i guess i figured that the presets themselves couldn't be overwritten and were stored on the rom permanently along with the waveforms themselves.
so, i have done as you suggested and the sounds worked! but, i only have 1-8 working, not 1-16 as you say you have. maybe a difference in the models? i confess i do need to read the rest of the manual, but i have actually looked for this info and didn't find much about it.
at any rate, thanks for your help.

henrik read the manual for gods sake
man!!!
these are things you'll need to know if you want to
be successfull at your p2000.
its just not a game of spin the dial and make
a sound ...
you must actually know what your doing with the key
assign ,keysplit,user map .
to make full use of this thing takes some
amount of time ...
and don't rely on what other people tell you either
!!! they could be wrong or don't kow , thats why i say read the manual......but
then we wouldn't hear from you would we?
execute sucks , i do not use theis feature. it
has couple different uses
do not use a disk to boot .
ok be kind
