Sequential circuits samplers

apologies if this is a rather obvious question, but have you tried saving something to a known good blank disc, formatted on the machine?  720k or 1440k.....

also, have a look at the short annotated guide in the files section. there's a chunk of it dedicated to disc ops display codes.... looking at that again, it occurs to me to suggest you might be seeing "Fd" (format disc) with the display missing a LED. is the display ok in other modes?

have you tried moving the parameter knob or buttons while in disc mode? sorry if these are stupid questions, but the machine can seem quite arcane, this far from 1984....
