Fh disk error?

Fh disk error?

2011-08-05 by x

hi folks, im trying to get a sick p2k back on its feet. the unit loads presets fine and plays those sounds, so i know its at least semi functional. however when i attempt to load from a disk i get this error: "Fh" i cant find Fh in any of the documentation im looking through. i have tried two separate drives in the unit, i can hear the drive spin up, but there is obviously an error. am i doing something wrong, or do i need to start poking through the floppy controller section?

there's a chunk of it dedicated to disc ops display codes.... looking at
that again, it occurs to me to suggest you might be seeing "Fd" (format
disc) with the display missing a LED. is the display ok in other modes?

sorry if these are stupid questions, but the machine can seem quite arcane,
this far from 1984....

apologies if this is a rather obvious question, but have you tried saving something to a known good blank disc, formatted on the machine? 720k or 1440k.....

have you tried moving the parameter knob or buttons while in disc mode? sorry if these are stupid questions, but the machine can seem quite arcane, this far from 1984....

I think you need a new floppy drive, I think I have seen Fh but can't remember what it was. I replaced the drives anyway.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
