S.D.originally did indeed only work with 68k macs , and as I remember with the copy i once had, with system6! I think S.D. started out as a sample editor running on system6 for use with various samplers, and later on digidesign made SD to work with their own hardware, running system7 and maybe 8?

This first versions of the program did all their communication via midi sample dump, and strings of sysex.
I think you may have some success using software wich supports midi sample dump. There is some programs for osx wich support midi sample dump, amongst others is DSP Quattro
If you really want to get this thing working, then get an old 68030 macII or classic running 7.1 or earlier. tell me how it goes!

I think Sound Designer for the Prophet 2000/2 will only work on older
68k Mac processors not the newer G3/G4 etc.
