I think I've tried just about everything, I even got an old mac and installed p2000 sound designer....which would work until it crashed(which was a couple of minutes) but I need something that will work on my present setup. Anybody know of a cheap or free solution to get sounds from OSX into the p2002 via midi?

If you mean patches, then pretty much only Sound Design on a 68k Mac will work. If you mean samples, the any application that correctly supports Midi Sample

If you mean samples, the any application that correctly supports Midi Sample Dump Standard (SDS) will work.

DSP Quattro claims to support SDS, but I didn't try (yet): http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/DSP-Quattro_Beta/ r. Am 28.02.2007 um 10:51 schrieb Dazzer:

Well The demo of DSP quattro seems to pull files from the p2002 but it has the dump via SDS disabled. Honestly I don't want to have to pay more for software than I did for the p2002 anyway, I was hoping I might find some freeware or cheap shareware dump utility for OSX, but no luck yet. --- In prophet2000@yahoogroups.com, ron schneider <list.ron@...> wrote:

If you think the Sequential way, the best way is to sample record them in, nothing else required but a patch cable from your computer. It is also the best way to get to know your machine and you then have that 'this is my sample feeling' and will treat the sample with a bit more respect. My 10 cents, (it is the note that counts, 1 and 2 and ...) Yesterday i tried SDS the first time with the P2002 - it's slow but great :-) I used an older version of Sound-Forge. A 2,5sec-Sample needs about 4min (!!). The sample was first converted to 31250hz with SF, so the loop-points were also transferd right. Finally it saves time, searching for a "perfect" loop with the P2k needs imho more time than 4min. :-) The "analog" way only saves time by "one shot" samples... --- In prophet2000@yahoogroups.com, "Ian" <igrant442@...> wrote: > > If you think the Sequential way, the best way is to sample record > them in, nothing else required but a patch cable from your computer. > It is also the best way to get to know your machine and you then have > that 'this is my sample feeling' and will treat the sample with a bit > more respect. > > My 10 cents, (it is the note that counts, 1 and 2 and ...) > > Ian > > --- In prophet2000@yahoogroups.com, "skylab001" <skylab001@> wrote: > > > > I think I've tried just about everything, I even got an old mac and > installed p2000 sound > > designer....which would work until it crashed(which was a couple of
