By the way, most Roland wall warts I have
encountered have higher
voltage than stated on the unit. For
instance, a 9v wall wart would
output more like 13 or 14 volts, even under
moderate load.

My experience says use any ac adaptor that gives the same output or better mA, for example provided the output is 9V DC you could safely use a 2A unit or even higher, what it mustnt be is lower in mA.Note that an adaptor may not say specifically that it is class 2 but if it has two concentric squares, i.e. one square inside another, it is class 2 this symbol designates it so.From: vintagesynthrepair@yahoogroups.com [mailto:vintagesynthrepair@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of grw20022

anyone know if I would have any trouble using any other type of ac adaptor other then a roland ACi-120C input 120v 60hz 17w output DC9V/1000 mA class 2 transformer...does it have to be a class 2 transformer for the GR-1 to work..I did not do that yet, if anyone also has one for sale e-mail me back..GerryYahoo!
