wurli 206A chop

2004-02-23 by Stephen Richards

Hello to all
I just bought a wurlitzer 206A and need to get some info / schematics.
I have removed the keyboard fron the speaker box and disconnected the switching box...
I need to find out how to connect mains power to the Wurli and also how to wire the output from the board to the output jack on the bottom of the Wurli.
Will the output be at line level ?
Thanks

Hi Steve,

I've just done this. Output line9ish level from back of vol pot. I
mounted some speakers in the top, but am unsure as to wheteher or not to
keep them.

Hi Again Geoff
Do you mean you soldered wires to the back of the volume pot , then to the jack on the underside of the Wurli for line output ?
What i did was take my signal directly from the speaker outs on the board , this was obviously wrong as the signal was too hot and quite noisy.
Is the above solution better ? is it relatively noiseless ? and lastly...
do you have an links to info about doing this ?
Thanks
Stephen

Hi Again Geoff

Yup. But watch out for the mains voltage switch on the back. I didn't
- ouch.

What i did was take my signal directly from the speaker outs on the
board , this was obviously wrong as the signal was too hot and quite
noisy.

That way it would be going thru the power amp - too hot signal level and
all the extra noise and distortion from the PA..

Is the above solution better ? is it relatively noiseless ? and
lastly...
do you have an links to info about doing this ?

I found a cct diagram somewhere, but can't remember. Ask on the Wurly
group and somebody will steer you right.

cheers
