sorry for the thousand questions I am just trying out ways to get a system together has anyone been decided not to get the Waveforme City and go for the Blacet Miniwave, but had a blue coloured faceplate mede up? Does Blacet do that?

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but just want to say that you should really consider sticking to the Waveform City. I know the Mini Wave is a very popular module, but you'll be giving up the saw, triangle and sine waves of the Waveform City. And believe me, once you hear how nice the Classic VCO sounds, you'll want to have another set of the analog waveforms available (minus the pulse wave of course). You will also be missing Synch which is very cool to use on the digital waveforms, a set of multiples (you can never have enough) and an AR envelope. Not sure if those things are important to you and your music though. Just some food for thought. : )

Just get the software from Frontpanel Express or Schaeffer and design one yourself. If you feel generous, post the file here in the files section for others to use. If you ask John Blacet nicely, he can tell you where to find a mechanical drawing of his faceplate grid. --- In wiardgroup@yahoogroups.com, "cray5656" <amni56@...> wrote:

Some Blacet modules, like the mults or dual linear VCA are not the standard 4 inches depth, so they could be installed in my cabinet without modification. Most of the Blacet modules are more of the standard Frac design, having the circuit board mounted perpendicular to the faceplate (typically attaching to the front panel via the board mounted pots). This is no problem when mounting in a typical Frac Rack, which has plenty of depth to accomodate the modules, but is not convenient for mounting in a dsektop case. As a result, I have had to modify several of my Blacet modules, attaching wiring from the circuit board to the pots and jacks on the faceplate so that I could remotely mount the ciruit board on the back of the desktop panel, which allowed me to install these modules into a shallower case for desktop use. gary

Actually, the biggest consideration for me when choosing Blacet
modules is the actual module depth - a Wiard 1200 series modules has
less than 2 inch depth, making them easy to install into a desktop
chassis. Some Blacet modules, like the mults or dual linear VCA are
not the standard 4 inches depth, so they could be installed in my
cabinet without modification.
Most of the Blacet modules are more of the standard Frac design,
having the circuit board mounted perpendicular to the faceplate
(typically attaching to the front panel via the board mounted pots).
This is no problem when mounting in a typical Frac Rack, which has
plenty of depth to accomodate the modules, but is not convenient for
mounting in a dsektop case.
As a result, I have had to modify several of my Blacet modules,
attaching wiring from the circuit board to the pots and jacks on the
faceplate so that I could remotely mount the ciruit board on the back
of the desktop panel, which allowed me to install these modules into a
shallower case for desktop use.
