That's an option in the SX preferences too, you can change what Cubase
does when you hit stop...

rEalm

The problem with Cubase as master is, that it would not reset the XL-7 to
the starting position after pressing the stop button 2 times, but it does
function with XL-7 as a master. Then Cubase would stop the song after one
press on the stop button of the XL-7 and on the second press, Cubase would
reset to the starting position.

this confused me a bit - which do you want as the timing master, your XX7

Cubase?

if you want the tempos to match, then you need to set the XX7 base tempo
to=

"ext" , external sync (if Cuabse is master), and configure Cuabse to send

clock to the XX7. i'm not a Cubase user, so i don't know how you do that.

f you
want the XX7 to be Master, then set the tempo for whatever you want and
configure Cubase to receive MIDI clock from the XX7.

manually setting the XX7 tempo to match will result in drift, sooner or

you could use Timecode to sync instead of MIDI Clock, but you'd need a
device to translate SMPTE into Beat Clocks, as the XX7 only receives Beat
Clocks. these devices can be pricey, and you don't really need it. Beat

can work great.

i had timing sync problem a month or two ago, and solved it by using the
highest quality (and most expensive) MIDI cable i could find for the XX7's

cable was causing jittery tempo sync.

the tempo offset you mentioned is a bit strange. so it doesn't fluctuate,

stays static at that difference? could it have to do with the frame rate

syncing to film, and maybe that has something to do with it.

sorry to be so vague on the Cuabse stuff - i use DP (but am wanting to
