I've the same problem when i use the trigger buton to play notes. In fact, if nothing is record on a track the preset will stay the same of the last pattern. My solution is to save a multisetup wich remains the presets on each tracks. After you must insert a program change at the beginning of each pattern to remains the multisetup you want ( i think it's possible in cubase or go in the pattern edit menu go to the screen who show events and insert the number of the set up you want with this value msb: 0 lsb: 80 and it will work... if you're running on os 2.0 for me on 1.31 this feature doesn't work correctly...shit).
