Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi i've just got my mp7 from ebay.
I'm using it in fact like a sound expander driven by cubase. So far away everything is 
working, i assign every midi track from cubase to the mp7 : track1 for kick, track2 for 
snare, track3 for hihats ..... I save the pattern and switch off the mp7. But when i come 
back and switch on the mp7, select my pattern... and the presets i've choosen are gone!!
I precise : i don't know how to edit presets so i keep the original ones: just select the patch 
and assign it to the track. It's kind of boring cause when i want to load a new song from 
cubase the machine dont play the sounds i've originally choosen. I need to retrieve all the 
presets. Can someone help me please?

I've the same problem when i use the trigger buton to play notes. In fact, if nothing is record on a track the preset will stay the same of the last pattern. My solution is to save a multisetup wich remains the presets on each tracks. After you must insert a program change at the beginning of each pattern to remains the multisetup you want ( i think it's possible in cubase or go in the pattern edit menu go to the screen who show events and insert the number of the set up you want with this value msb: 0 lsb: 80 and it will work... if you're running on os 2.0 for me on 1.31 this feature doesn't work correctly...shit).

Yes, a MIDI track should contain any data to store
the presets for it. An empty track will always forget
the preset settings!
It's enough to record one of the realtime controllers movement,
or anything else which can not be heard.
The fastest way (for me) to test it is moving to another pattern
(maybe a factory preset which has all 16 tracks used), and after
move back your actual pattern.
