Thank you biggup I understand the method that you describe. Unusual - you do not use desolder braided copper or solder sucker to remove the old solder? Have you replaced the data-entry pot on an XL7? There are a total of (9) points - 4 points for the cover part (looks like a copper shield) - and 5 points for the pot itself. My Fear is that I might damage the electronic traces on the other side of the IC - do you think that is not such a potential problem? thanks very much!
