you do not use
desolder braided copper or solder sucker to remove the old solder?
 NO

But i haven't seen that there are so much points on this pot.

If you have the new one , cut all the point to take off the pot. After with a pliers unsolder all the point stay in the IC. You can blow on the IC to remove the rest of tin when it's warm, to let the hole empty.Me i use an iron paper clip to remove the tin inside the hole.I heat the paper clip, i push it inside the hole, and i move it to remove the tin from the hole.

Do it slowly and quietly and you didn't destroy the IC.

I didn't change this part , but i already change same on other synth, and i have change some switch on my xl7, it work grate.

  Thank you biggup

I understand the method that you describe. Unusual - you do not use
desolder braided copper or solder sucker to remove the old solder?

Have you replaced the data-entry pot on an XL7? There are a total of
(9) points - 4 points for the cover part (looks like a copper shield)
- and 5 points for the pot itself.

My Fear is that I might damage the electronic traces on the other side
of the IC - do you think that is not such a potential problem?

thanks very much!

dont know the name of this tool) on one of the two big part , on 1 or
2 milimeters, after the other ,i repeat thoses actions until they are
out of the IC, on the other side of the pot's IC.After I do the same
on the 3 little left in same time to push them out in one time.
