why not add a menu somewhere (if the hardware permits it) that just 
disables the power button.  then the user has the option of it being 
effective or not. or the actual power off command could be in a menu, 
or you could have to hold another button down at the same time.  just 
an idea though, i've never hit it accidentally.  it comes from using 
mixing consoles for live engineering, cos if you hit the wrong button 
(ie mute instead of solo) the instrument disappears.  even more 
important when mixing monitors for jumpy overimportant rock stars.
