Yeah, actually I meant insert an event in the file in the XL7 and then dump it into Sonar and then mess with it - but your other suggestion is even easier.

As long as Sonar is setup to send MIDI Clock to the XL-7, it ll control transport too. rEalm Yeah, but does the transport in Cakewalk Sonar control the XL7?

Probably the easiest way is to just record the audio outs of the MP-7 to an external recorder, or a freebie software sequencer. rEalm my nickname (tag name)
