why would you have to learn sysex? Can t you just use E-loader to back up your presets? Or use a Yamaha data filer. They re cheap on Ebay. I don t know.

I have had similar results with a PX-7 a couple years ago. Have you tried resetting the machine? That always worked for me. I think the CS needs to be reset
