Hard Reset for Command Stations?

Hard Reset for Command Stations?

2004-05-09 by honeststeve23

Is there a key combo to hold down when powering up the PX7 to perform
a hard reset or system initialize that will restore all of the
settings and patterns to the original factory set up. I just got a
used one and wanted to do this.

Thanks
Steve

#16 - 'Initialize User Data' WILL ERASE ALL PATTERNS AND SONGS!! BOTH USER
AND FACTORY PATTERNS WILL BE ERASED PERMANENTLY! You can recover the factory
patterns from the E-MU support CD that shipped with the unit. These are also
available on <outbind://6/www.emu.com> www.emu.com. This type of
reintialization WILL ALSO ERASE ALL PRESETS EDITS AND MULITISETUPS YOU HAVE
MADE!! You can backup this info using the Eloader program found on the E-MU
support CD. This is also available on <outbind://6/www.emu.com>
www.emu.com. Refer to the Eloader manual for directions on performing these
backups.

The 2nd reinitialization option is #17 - 'Init Data Except Seq's'. This
Initializes only the synthesizer and EEProms and leaves the patterns and
songs intact. This type of reintialization WILL ALSO ERASE ALL PRESET EDITS
AND MULITISETUPS YOU HAVE MADE!!

Reinitialization steps:

1. Power up the Command Station while holding down the two cursor

buttons. This will put you in the diagnostics/servicing menu.

2. Turn the data knob to the desired initialization (see the warning

above), either #16 or #17.

3. Press the Home/Enter button two times

Once the reinitialization is complete you can reboot the machine - this

completes the reinitialization process.

Greetings,

Ronald

You can do a reset as mentioned in another post, but you will still need
to reload the Patterns and Songs back into the machine, they are not
recalled automatically. If you didn't get a CD with this data with your
uni, you can go to the files section of this group and get it there too.
