Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

so i was reading the files on this site and read about how to not do a 
system reset which is what i did to lose my presets im such an idiot! 
so is the 2.0 os on this site the one i need for the xl-7 i have 1.3 
right now do i need to upgrade the os incrementally or can i just use 
2.0 also ill read more but how do i switch drum sounds while playing 
the presets? and say i tweak an lfo knob and it changes the drum sound 
how do i get it to go back to the original sound it seems to stay 
changed and then the drum pattern stays the same when i switch presets 
why is it doing this i love this thing but its so confusing.my roland 
gear has an exit button and a factory default restore deal doesnt this?
