We should wait til the weekend, Summer NAMM is this week, if they are
going to announce anything, I would wager it would be there. not saying
they are mind you, just saying that's where I would think they would do
it. Anyone seen that Digi002? Pretty cool little box.

I searched the NAMM company listings and EMU is not part of it.
Anyone else knows if they are planning to have their own booth. If
not I will guess that we will not going to see new product from EMU.
By the way the Hartmann Neuron is pretty cool you can check out their
sounds on their web site.

Well seeing as the Waldorf Q and the Triton Pro's, the Alesis Andromeda, and Kurzweil have all been either very near or much higher than this, I think it'll have some takers. They will at least want to license the technology and it might make it into some cheaper gear. Who knows?

I reeally want to check these things out. I talked to one of the product specialists, and there is no plan as of now to make anything else. It would be actually nice if they took this unit and did what ROLAND and everyone else is doing - one engine, many products!
The neuron takes things to so much of a new level. How does emu anser this call? If I were a synth manufacturer, i'd be freaking out, researching, and reverse engineering like crazy!

Yeah; we've not seen that since the DX7, the D-50, the M-1, the
Wavestation, the VL-1, the K2000, the Morpheus, the K5000S, the Nord
Modular and the Oasys...

> How does emu anser this call?

E-mu have always been into sample libraries, and producing
high-polyphony, high-quality sample player modules (but these days
with good control systems, modulation and filters, which is the only
reason I'm here).

That's almost what happened in 1983, except that Yamaha were really
keen on enforcing their FM patents; Roland side-stepped this and got
into PCM samples and onboard effects (well, to be fair, Korg predated
that in the DW's, but Roland made it kick ass); the rest is history.

Has anyone even HEARD this thing yet? Maybe it sounds like crap? Who knows?
If you'd like to compare it to the DX7 'phenomanon' keep in mind that,
although the dx7 can produce some interesting sounds, the entire concept was
beaten to a bloody pulp for the next 10 years to come! I'm not knocking the
Neuron, I'm just simply stating that you 'can't' honestly knock it until
you've at least heard the thing. Although, for over $4g's, I think I'd be
spending my money elsewhere first...

THe DX-7 revolutionized synthisis. any 80's tune with a synth in it will almost for sure be a dx-7 (with the exception of VH's "Jump")
The NEURON will revolutionize synthisis. Every tune from 2003-2010 will have one in it.... Except for...
sounds kinda silly :P

THe DX-7 revolutionized synthisis. any 80's tune with a synth in it will almost for sure be a dx-7 (with the exception of VH's "Jump")
That is exactly why "Jump" is my favorite song from the 80's!!! hrmf, on a serious note, alot of really good "IDM" as it's seemingly called tends to abuse the full power of FM synthesis, I was just commenting on how it was the best selling synthesizer of all time....
The NEURON will revolutionize synthisis. ; Every tune from 2003-2010 will have one in it.... Except for...
mmmm, maybe that would be good....everyone owns one = market value drop = I could afford one if they're really that cool! That's the only reason I was able to afford a DX7II, which I eventually sold. aiming my sites instead on a FS1r after realizing what they can do comparitively...
sounds kinda silly :P
Indeed it does, but so does teenage america, who happen to control the majority of the musical market....
Like I said, I'm not knocking it, I'm 100% behind any completely new thought patterns in the musical industry, I just like to randomly chat nonsense and take up peoples hard drive space with lots of little emails, hehehe (byron then throws his head back in a hideously devious cackle)
