any way to delete a complete pattern in the XL 7?

any way to delete a complete pattern in the XL 7?

2003-05-23 by quazar

hello everybody
I'm a producer from Amsterdam, and all in all quite happy with the XL7 in my
(live) set up, there are a couple of things I don't understand:
- is there a way to delete a complete pattern (like the presets that come
with the XL-7, which I find kind of embarassing)?
It seems like a kinda complex workaround to have to delete all the seperate
tracks, or delete all of them together (but then you still keep the original
name.

second question:
in the studio I use the XL7 also as a soundmodule with Logic. I've installed
2 more boards (MP 7 and Techno synth) but I can't seem to find a way for
Logic to play the Phatt and Techno (it only recognises the first 4 banks,
which are from the XL7)

cheers

Copy a blank pattern over it using Copy Pattern in the Save/Copy menu.

Well, technically, the first 4 banks are the user presets. To access
the other banks (i.e. the true XL-7 sounds and the other two ROMs as
well) you'll need to use bank select messages. Pressing Audition while
in Preset View will show you the MSB and LSB for the current preset.
If Logic lets you enter them separately (cc#0 and cc#32), do that. If
you have to select bank as one number, multiply MSB times 128 and add
the LSB to get one number.

Copy a blank pattern over it using Copy Pattern in the Save/Copy menu.

>>>Or copy all of the Patterns of the later User Banks (which are empty)
to your PC via E-Loader, then download that bank over the User banks you
want to "erase". Select all of the empty patterns in E-loader, and press
CTRL+I to change the bank number, download. There's even a Bank worth of
blank patterns in the fiels section of this group for just that
purpose.<<<

No problem. Uh, it was quarter to one in the morning. Had just
finished watching a movie and was checking email before flipping the TV
off...
