I've had experience with Yamaha in the past when trying to obtain some of their YM2413 low cost FM synthesis chips. Back then I wasn't in a position to order from them in the quantity required, which is probably a good thing because in the end I found it easy to source YM2413 chips in already-finished devices and I would have been stuck with hundreds of nasty FM chips! But IG series chips are another matter, and CS-5s deserve not to be sacrificed in order to rescue CS-80s! (In fact, what about making it a 7 voice CS-80?) Anyway, do you have an idea what their minimum order quantity / amount would be? Would it need to be all the same chip or could the numbers be made up using a mix of different IG series chips?
