As a less expensive alternative to the Kenton, I would suggest the PAIA MIDI-CV unit: www.paia.com You can buy it as a kit, either 1v/oct or v/hz (which is what the cs80 uses, along with the older Paia modulars). It was pretty easy to build if you are at least somewhat familiar with a soldering iron.
