The CS80 Applications/Performance via Midi (Midi users may kindly respond)

Hello group.
To all that have a Kenton retro midi fit in your CS80...
What do you find has made it worth the somewhat
extensive and fairly expensive process?
I can think of many different reasons.....For instance
has any used Kontackt 1 or 2 to sample the CS80?
That might be an interesting option to sample the wave
file via midi. Indeed also if anyone has done any extensive
sampling/editing of their sounds...What have you discovered?
I see midi as a useful ,practical tool for layering to other
sounds and keyboards...yet I am very interested to see
how users are integrating the CS80 in your studios or
performances?
Lastly,I do know the Kenton "kit" price...what might be
an estimate for the "cost" of installation?
Hope everyone is just great.....
My regards,JD

As usual, I know nothing about the condition of the keyboards or the
sellers...

Right now, there's an SY-1, and SY-2, and a CS-60 (with stand) in
auctions. If you win one of these, let us know!

As a less expensive alternative to the Kenton, I would suggest the PAIA MIDI-CV unit:
www.paia.com
You can buy it as a kit, either 1v/oct or v/hz (which is what the cs80 uses, along with the older Paia modulars). It was pretty easy to build if you are at least somewhat familiar with a soldering iron. It doesnt have all the bells and whistles of the Kenton, but it is more than satisfactory for the purpose.
