Yamaha CS80

There's anothe rproblem on my CS-80:

The sound is sometimes completely fading out.
This happens without detuning, so I guess it's not a supply voltage thing.
It also happens without any distortion, and its a very smooth fading.
My prime suspect is the Expression circuit: I guess the LDRs can turn an 
intermittent contact on the CV side into such a smooth fade.
I'll look into this when I'm finished tuning (i. e., not so soon), but I 
thought I mention it now; maybe one of you had a similar problem and has a 
hint where else to look.

When reading all these reports I´m beginning to feel more and more fed up with maintaining my CS... it just is no fun anymore, especially when there´s no happy money to burn on techs or whatever...

Right; but on the other hand, when I received mine, and it was good enough 
in tune for playing with heavily PWM'ed sounds at least, I couldn't get my 
fingers off of it for two hours. There's not many instruments that do this 
for me.

It´s a wonderful instrument which is ultimately rewarding to use because it´s so musical and so organic-sounding. I never felt too fond of any other famous analogue polysynth like a Jupiter 8, Synthex, Matrix 12, Memory Moog, what have you, after I got a CS80 but I hate the issues it has... I´d never sell mine, I´m happy to own one, but frankly, even though I had it overhauled by a CS expert in The Netherlands, it still isn´t up to where I want it to be. This is quite annoying, especially when you´re using your tools on a semi-pro level.

I feel exactly the same stephen... mine still has some issues, one 
oscillator is still out a semitone or two (really annoying) and i have some 
hum issues on the effects section, also my fine tune knob is not working 
right and some other little things... but i do love the beast to death..
I plan to get it tolex'd at some point soon and hope to get the remaining 
problems resolved at the same time, then ill be a very happy camper..
