Used capacitors on overhauled CS-80 power supply?

Used capacitors on overhauled CS-80 power supply?

2006-02-13 by Thorsten P.

Hello David

which capacitors did you used for the 0,1uF types, the blue ones on you
pictures?

http://www.therogoffs.com/cs80/images/image24.jpg

Are those ceramic's, because the orignals look's like foil/film types?

Best regards
Thorsten

Sorry, but I'm not totally sure. I ordered most of my parts from
DigiKey, but I picked up others in local shops. I'll see if I can
find the packing info, but it might take a while.

1 243-1016-ND 7.46000 $7.46

Most are CMOS chips and sockets. I don't have time to look up all the
part numbers. The caps may have also been bought locally. I doubt
the caps are tantalums. These can be bad news. I think they are
dipped ceramics.

Those are ceramic--I have a pile of them here. They are a Panasonic
X7R type.

Hello Rory

I guess not because there are no marks on the capacitors for polarity (as
far as I can see it) as in the schema.
I guess it should be creamics
Maybe David could give us a glue?

Hello Crow

Thanks a lot for the offer but I'm from Germany and the cost for
shipping these cheap parts would be more as the parts itself, I guess.
But maybe you could help me out with the different currents of the
power supply because after replacing the alu. capacitors I want to do
a load/stress test with the psu before I put it back in the CS-80.
So I can see the "quality" on my osciloscope.

Best regards
Thorsten
