Hi folks, I'm new here

Hi folks, I'm new here

2006-03-04 by zmurch_von_meh

Hi everybody,

Yesterday I found out about the existance of this group by way of
CS80captain. It's a small world after all ;-)

My name's Marcel and I live in the Netherlands and am also the proud
owner of a CS80 which I bought in 2000 from her second owner. It had
been sitting in a corner of her living room for 16 years, gathering dust.

One voiceboard didn't work, which was caused by a faulty VCA IC. In
order to get it fixed I sacrificed my CS60, making it my private heap
of CS80 spare parts. I know, it's a stupid decision, but it's like Old
Crow said "that every CS-80 that yet exists in the 21st century
deserves to live on" and the CS60 parts certainly have served their
purpose ;-)

Cheers,

Marcel

HI Marcel and welcome to the Group by a CS80 non -owner ;-) !!
Sad thing you sacrificed your 60 as spare parts for your 80, I love the 60,
it has a somewhat more aggressive sound ( more distrtion ) than the 80, even
if it's only one synth channel...
Funny, it's full of CS80 ( and Vangelisians ) in Netherlands, veeeery good!!

I have a CS60, and love the sounds that it provides. I sometimes like it better than even my OB-Xa. The CS60 can be aggressive even with 1 VCO but I find it more fine and smoother than the OB. The ring mod, is amazing......The CS80 is a dream machine but I don't know if I could dismantle a CS60.....then again I don't have a CS80 so can't really add a valid opinion...Nevertheless a CS60 is a rare synth to find nowadays it deserves to live as well......;)
