The "long green piece" slides on to fingers on the edge of the "buss board". Just pull it in the plane of the buss board, and it should slide off fairly easily. The green edge connector is keyed, so you can't plug it in backwards. The only exceptions to this are that some modules have other connections to to connectors on the back of a boat.
