Hi folks - Minimoog56 from Muffwiggler here...

My 200e just arrived last week with some damage from Fedex - Jon and B&A made everything alright by replacing the 227e very rapidly despite Fedex's lumbering claims process. The mostly superficial damage was disappointing but everything checked out operationally. I had my first patch up and running in a frw minutes and then totally lost track of time, I have been making my way slowly through each module plugging all the ins and outs -Pulse, CV and audio. This far I am getting some wonderful and surprising sounds. I don't quite yet "get" the 210e and its function, nor am I fully grokking the 291e. The 291 run cycle is a bit glitchy and I am not quite sure what I am doing - amplitude is erratic and hard for me to control. When it gets going in cycle or pulse mode I get some nice affects but I can't seem to establish a nice ful 8 step sweep - wondering if unit is working as calibrated r maybe was thrown off by the hit that cause the neighboring 227e to be damaged.

Otherwise very pleased - hypnotizing myself with the sights and sounds of the 200e - turning her on (followed by a loud ooooohhhhh!!!! from my twelve year old twin girls as the light show kicks in...) Haven't played guitar in two weeks and I am staying up later than I should each night exploring the various avenues of this electric music box...

The 18 boater is filling up fast (I have a 258v and a 255 on the way with15 panels already filled from myoriginal purchase. Looks like Chris' Pendulum Ratchet will fill me up by May or June.

cheers and will look for threads covering the 210e and triple morph filter -

PB

i just setup this patch

259e -> 291e signal input
291e output a -> 227e

the 259e has a bit of grit to it (red 6, green 4, red fm knob turned all the way down, principal osc at~ 110hz, morph 5, warp 3).

i then went through and set all 8 steps in the 291e to "Free" and set their time to 10 seconds. i used the following values:

b	f
57	156
68	247
66	415
64	740
43	31
0	31
15	31
0	31

now i hit "play" and i've had some nice long droney filter sweeps.

make sure all the values are capitalized and not lowercased. "F 123" will morph but "f 123" will step. both can be quite useful depending on what you want to do (stepping is good if you're making drum beats, which is easy to do by feeding in white noise to the all input).

the same patch also works in "Cntrl Vltg" mode. feed a slow lfo (281e, 266e, interpolate between two steps on a 250e, move some rings around, etc) in and you'll get some very slow morphing sweeps.

also, amplitude is only used if you monitor the "all" out. read the manual for this (and the 210e and 250e) and you'll save yourself some frustration.

another good one that i'm listening to now.

the same 291e setup in "control voltage" mode.

cv1 output from a 250e into the cv input of the 291e.

all stages on the 250e set to the "blank" range (it's the one after "all" and before "0-2"). all stages have interpolation on. all stages set to "Adv" mode. time range for every stage is ".6-6". time mult is turned to the right to 6. all time knobs are turned to the right. press start.

in the "blank" range each stage outputs a voltage proportional to its numeric value. so stage 1 is ~.635 V, stage 2 is ~1.27v, ... stage 16 is ~10v. so when stage 1 plays it slews between 0v and ~.6v, stage 2 slews from 0v to 1.2v...stage 16 slews from 0v-10v. and each of these interpolations takes ~24 seconds. so lots of long, hypnotic, and slightly changing sweeps.

ok, i'm going to sleep now.

thanks,

-jon

Thanks for the 291e tips Jon - just realized I have an e-mail box here!
