68376 Software Watchdog

2002-07-02 by john_gma

I am using the Software Watchdog feature of the 68376 to provide
recovery in event of a programming bug/hardware glitch.

The reset does not appear to be the same as a power-up/external reset.
Can someone explain the differences between a power-up reset and a
reset caused by the software watchdog?

What registers, etc would I need to initialize to make it work the
same as a power-up reset?

My code works properly following a power-up reset, but if I purposely
induce a software watchdog reset, things do not always seem to
initialize properly.

Thanks

John
