Hi, wallace, you're lucky that you can purchase one. I'm not in US, so I can't purchase one. Can someone take the hardcopy and make a pdf of the VF-1 english user's manual please... Hi!! When I receive the Boss VF-1 manual I will see if I can help you. Where are you at? Jim

It would be a wonderful thing to have the VF1 manual in the 'files' section of the YahooGroups site. Many other Roland users' groups do this, even though Roland charges (an unfair high price) for their manuals. Anyone have access to a scanner? Hi, Thank you for your interest Jim. I'm in Turkey. But, it would be better if there is a pdf or a digital copy of user's manual for every new user. I agree. I think it's bogus that Roland doesn't do on-line manuals. Almost all of their competition does nowadays. I even found an on-line manual for the 1988 Digitech GSP-5 that my VF-1 replaced. Sigh. I have a manual and access to a scanner but do not know much about generating PDF files. I'd be willing to help (but it seems like it would take a loong time to scan every page). Maybe we can get a bunch of people on the group to each scan in 10 or so full pages at a specific resolution, drop them somewhere, and have someone knowledgable about PDF organize it into one file. Heck. I'm considering buying the Boss OD-20 and wanted to look at the manual on-line the other day to get a more in depth view of it, but went to the website and remembered Roland doesn't do on-line manuals. I may just buy something else instead. Too bad Roland's stuff sounds so good. ;) --- In BossVF1@yahoogroups.com, "the_mincer <vf1@h...>" <vf1@h...> wrote:

A pdf manual would be a GREAT idea... I can happily compile one, if it could be arranged to send me scans of the pages as jpg files... my email addy is d.williams@... :) --- In BossVF1@yahoogroups.com, "Kent Dalton <stoker_x@y...>" <stoker_x@y...> wrote: > I agree. The scanning sounds kind of tedious to me, which is why I haven't done it myself, yet. ;) Maybe I'll give it a start and see just how bad it is. :) I was thinking maybe we could break it up into page ranges among several people, if necessary, and just pick a resolution to scan at, in order to make sure the jpgs are at least somewhat consistent... But no one responded to my message, so I figured I was the only one willing to contribute. I can't tell you how convenient it would be to have this... I guard my VF-1 manual from my kids diligently but I just know one of these days my two year old daughter is going to shred it or throw it in the toilet or something. :)
