Hi, thanks. That's an interesting idea! That very well could be the case. I had taken it apart at one time to try and clean the inside on the LCD display, I know, not a good idea! Anyhow, I had a heck of a time getting it back together, the inside is crammed with circuit boards, with not a millimeter to spare! It worked fine for years afterwards, it wasn't until last year It wouldn't work. I kind of miss it, like I mentioned, I still may pick one up. Also, I just remember, I left the battery's in it for over a year and the inside of the batt compartment got all corroded.

Welcome. Feel free to post them. Will they work on a 5000?
It is interesting how sometimes electronics die from non use. Probably the
electrolytic caps dry out?

Hi. I'm new to this group. I thought I'd share a story about my CZ1000.
I bought it in 1985. I had a couple keyboards before that though. But
the
CZ was the first that had full size keys and I used it the most. It's a
pretty amazing synth, the presets are for the birds, but with an 8 stage
envelope generator, you could really make some very interesting sounds.
It's been under my bed for the last five to six years, and when I pulled
it
out and tried using it, I found it had given up to ghost. Everytime I
turn
the power on, all the lights blink on and off rapidly, and a constant tone
is produced, it changes in pitch each time I power it on. I'm not too
broken hearted, it's had a rough life, it's been dropped a few times, so
I'm
not surprised. I was thinking about buying another one on Ebay, I may do
that. I have patches I've written if anyone's interested.
