There's still hope, since it sounds like you haven't initialized the whole system yet. Here's the procedure to reset the data for the entire keyboard. 1. Turn the CZ-1 off. 2. Hold down the INITIALIZE button. 3. While still pressing the initialize button, turn CZ-1 on. 4. LCD will ask "SYSTEM ALL INITIALIZE (Y/N)?" Keep holding the INITIALIZE button and also press the YES button. 5. If all goes well the LCD will say "SYSTEM INITIALIZED !!" This could clear up a lot of problems you are having. This is really the first thing to do when getting a CZ out of storage, I think. m¡ke --- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, "Bryan Holland" <stingerholland@...> wrote: > > hi everyone. like the title says, i've got a problem with my CZ-1. > i recently pulled it out of the closet after a few years of sitting > around, and it was locked up. none of the keys or buttons were > working, and no sound at all. i replaced the lithium battery, and > while cleaning it found a 3/8 washer stuck in the cartridge port(you > gotta love kids!:D) well, after removing the washer and initializing > the sysem, i ended up with bank A-1 and that's about it. > about half of the buttons are still dead, but i have some hope. > is it possible to reset it? or is that what the initialize function is > for? > thanks > Bryan >
