Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

what would ya'll recommend as a rack-mount replacement for a CZ-1?

i know the VZ isn't really a "CZ in a rack" and most likely nothing is, 
really.

but if all of the CZs died on the same day, and you couldn't replace it, 
what would you get to fill the void? sure, there are plenty of synths that 
would generally be considered "better" than the CZ, but can any of them 
fill in for a CZ? can any of them do what the CZ does?

forget about who made it, or when, or what it does beyond what the CZ can 
do... i'm open to all suggestions, and want to remain as unbiased as 
possible.
