Great question, and it reminds me to work on my intended plan B, which is to 
ensure I
have good samples with proper loop points and all that stored of my CZ 
sounds.

I don't do much design with Phase Distortion these days, but if I were to 
and my CZ was gone, I'd look to some software I know is out there that does 
this.  I wouldn't try to substitute PD with any other form, it just isn't 
similar enough.
