Great question, and it reminds me to work on my intended plan B, which is to ensure I have good samples with proper loop points and all that stored of my CZ sounds. I don't do much design with Phase Distortion these days, but if I were to and my CZ was gone, I'd look to some software I know is out there that does this. I wouldn't try to substitute PD with any other form, it just isn't similar enough. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Atom Smasher" <atom@...> To: <CZsynth@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Saturday, January 05, 2008 7:13 PM Subject: [CZsynth] CZ in a rack? > what would ya'll recommend as a rack-mount replacement for a CZ-1? > > i know the VZ isn't really a "CZ in a rack" and most likely nothing is, > really. > > but if all of the CZs died on the same day, and you couldn't replace it, > what would you get to fill the void? sure, there are plenty of synths that > would generally be considered "better" than the CZ, but can any of them > fill in for a CZ? can any of them do what the CZ does? > > forget about who made it, or when, or what it does beyond what the CZ can > do... i'm open to all suggestions, and want to remain as unbiased as > possible. > > thanks... > > > -- > ...atom > > ________________________ > http://atom.smasher.org/ > 762A 3B98 A3C3 96C9 C6B7 582A B88D 52E4 D9F5 7808 > ------------------------------------------------- > > "What luck for rulers, that men do not think." > -- Adolf Hitler > > > > > > Yahoo!
