I had the same concern about the size of the file. This is what I had based on the VZ-8m: > 65661 = FULL [Voice + Op-Men + Total] > 65644 = VC+OP [Voice + Op-Mem] > 43094 = VOICE > 22672 = OPMEM > The VZ files posted in files are 55958 which I assume is the VZ-1/VZ-10M VC+OP size. So, like Fran, I am wondering about the size of the file you are trying to upload to the VZ. Out of curiosity, where is it from? If you have patches you want to save, se if you can download them using sysex. If that works, save them. What size are they? If they seem to have been saved correctly and/or you don't mind possibly losing them, you could try transmitting any of the banks done by Cliff and posted in the CZ/VZ/FZ files storage group. As for the capability of different usb/midi interfaces to handle sysex data, I have heard of that problem before--esp. with the single 1-in, 1-out low-cost cables. On that note, I discovered some info that >>might<< relate to it in an article for a software utility called TestMidi (http://earthvegaconnection.com/evc/products/miditest/index.html). (For advanced midi users, see sections on DirectMusic and Sysex and Technical Info.) Also, if you want to post the file, I'd be willing to give it a try with both midiox and sonar. All of my VZ-10M sysex files are either 43,094 or 55,958 (with the 8 byte headers) depending on whether they have op-mem's or just voices. This makes me wonder if the file is corrupt. > > --- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, "twobeelandscape" <bill@> wrote: > > > > Hi Pete, what is your MIDI interface, and do you have the possibility of trying another one?
