well, i have three synthesizers that use right as the mono output. so it can't be that many that use the left one :-) just wondered, because the right output has also a mix in addition. thought it might be that one for mono
well, the chorus doesn't sound like a waterfall, it's ok i'd say, but since i use it as a mono instrument it doesn't matter to me that much :-)

it should be the left output - this is a convention found in many synths. btw: does the chorus of the 5000 sound like a waterfall close by as with my cz-1?
