New to the list + some Qs

Hi there !

I'm new to the list which I joined because I want to by a Casio synth
soon. I used some Casios in a studio many years ago and still can't
forget the sound, time to get one as they're pretty cheap these days.

I tried to look a bit around and to get informed about the Casios and
found three product lines which may be interesting for me: CZ, FZ and VZ.

Ok, and here are some things I didn't understand - please correct me if
I got something wrong.

If the CZ1000, CZ3000, CZ5000 and CZ1 are better (full-size keyboard,
more voices) than the CZ101, why does the CZ-101 sometimes achieve ebay
prices of more than 300EUR, while some of the bigger brothers go
cheaper? Is there anything the CZ101 does better?

FZ is a sampler which is able to playback synthesized sounds. The voice
structure is always "One DCO (Sample) -> One Filter -> Amp", right? No
second OSC per voice? No ringmod? No OscSync?
Is there any kind of real-time modulation of the waveform (sample or
synthesized) possible?

The VZ uses up to eight OSCs per voice. Does the number of voices depend
on the number of OSCs used per voice? Or does it really have 128 OSCs?

I didn't get the answers myself from the manuals, so maybe someone can
point me the right direction.

Thanx !
kubi

It's smaller and can be battery powered ;)
Btw. the CZ-1 is velocity sensititve...

Never had one, but in the 80s I used the FZ-1 of a friend quite a lot.

It's a sampler, you can stack up to 8 voices. You also can create a doubled and
detuned version of a sample. Only a few samplers at all have Sync and/or Ringmod.

Yes, 128 Oszillators, 8 per Voice, 16 Voice... at least when it comes to the VZ-1
or VZ-10m
