Hi, I just bought a vz10m on ebay. I don't have a manual yet and I was wondering if anyone can offer some insight as to how I can test the internal sounds without an instrument, just an amp. Very new to this stuff, any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony

You have to send it a midi signal from a midi controller, computer, something like that. _________________________________________________________________ Learn how to choose, serve, and enjoy wine at Wine @ MSN. http://wine.msn.com/

All you need is a cord that gives you midi in/out connectors on the end that doesn't go into the joystick port. (Usually, its $15.00 - $20.00 new.) If you then configure your multimedia settings to send MIDI to the sound card's midi port, instead of the internal sounds, basic media players that play midi files should play the sounds on your new VZ- 10M. From there if you want to invest in sequencer software, there are frequently early versions of Cakewalk software available there. Hope this helps. Dr. Steve

Thanks, PS: Just some additional thoughts: (1) Take the VZ to a music store, ask them if you can hook it up to one of their keyboards to hear the sounds. (You may want to call first.) (2) Ask someone locally to bring over a keyboard (and midi cables, if you don't have them). I know, these probably occurred to you, but I had to mention them just in case. --Dr. Steve

Dr. Steve, Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I will probably try the PC sound card thing. I'll be receiving a casio PG 380 soon, so that will be my midi trigger. Do you have any music sample on the web? Thanks again, Tony --- steve_the_composer <smw-mail@...> wrote: > > I just bought a vz10m on ebay.
