What do you do with your CZ??

What do you do with your CZ??

2001-04-10 by psychotropicsounds@hotmail.com

Hi

I just posted a message in reply to Kenji, where I asked him what
sounds he uses the CZ for. I think many people favour a particular
synth for a particular type of sound for whatever type of music they
create.
So....
Just curious: what particular type or types of sounds do other CZ
users use their CZ for?!?! Or do you find it a good all-rounder?

Anyone?

I use my CZ's mostly for guitar like leads and basses, which it does
quite well. Seems I usually use a distortion unit with it for an even
grungier sound. I got into the CZ because of I was looking for a
portable, battery operated synth.I also use a CZ-1 in my setup,as it
is also an excellent MIDI controller.
Here is a page with samples and patches of my CZ-101.

Hi Terry,

Your page was one of the first I came across when seeking out CZ info.
Great samples of your music there! I was pretty inspired by the lead
sounds on your page and I went home and hooked up a fuzz box, phaser
and analogue delay pedals to the CZ. It sounded excellent and very
guitar-like, although I'm not the greatest of keyboard players. I've
tried out the patches too- some good leads there. Thanks for the
inspiration on that one!!

hi adam,

i use my cz-1 now mainly as a support. it has really good mellow bass sounds
that are recognizable through a low drone - very useful for me. enhancing pads,
adding an odd feeling or an unobtrusive synth piano/guitar sounds are its
strengths. the latterreally dop sound synthetic buit give the IDEA of it -
remember the synth waves in jarre's oxygene.

ah, yes, and there are the strange sounds when you artificially overload the
operating system - really strange, but rare to use. i am looking forward to post
them (i still have technical problemsbecuase of the cz format)

Hi Terry,

just look at my signature, view the CZ Station and look at the tracks from
"A Touch of Future". Then read the description to find out what sounds came
from the CZ ;)
Since I'm not a mp3.com "Premium Artist", I'm not even earning money when
someone is downloading my track...
Most of the tracks are from the 80s, I often used the CZ for solo voice
synth sounds, harp and other string instruments, flute, brass, fx sounds,
bass sounds and drum sounds. Anyway, I'm still using the CZ every know and
then, for instance in "A Song for two" were I used it for the bass and a
analog style "voice like" synth sound ...
